In 2025, after many years of posting my writings and reflections on yoga teaching and Ayurveda here on my personal website, I decided to “expand my audience” by opening a Substack account. Hoping to reach new readers who also appreciated long-form writing, I developed a curriculum for the year that dissected the Ayurvedic channel system known as the srotamsi. (I explain the basics of the srotamsi in the first post below.) My overarching intention was not only to provide a new take on anatomy lessons that often inspire yoga asana sequences, but to go to the heart of yoga—the mind—by linking each channel to the subtler channel of the “feeling mind” that overlays the whole system. Clarity in any gross channel improves the clarity of the mind, and vice versa—which was something I desperately needed at the time (and got, through surprising ways, over the course of the year).
While teaching and writing about this material was incredibly rewarding, the publishing platform itself didn’t work out the way I expected. So I’m back here on my home turf for the foreseeable future. (Since I just finished writing, editing, and designing a nearly 500-page book, my posts here might be less dense in 2026—which I’m sure some of you are celebrating.)
But I didn’t want anyone who didn’t follow me on Substack to feel left out of the learning fun. Below, you’ll find the whole archive of 2025’s writing here for your enjoyment. Take your time reading—and take even more time feeling through the srotamsi, maybe even over the course of the whole year, allowing each one to enhance the sense of awe you feel for your own brilliant design.
